A Bit About Me

My name is Anita Martin. I teach first and second grade; I'm also the Elementary Academic Coordinator and the Academic Team Coach. This is my 23rd year of teaching. I've taught preschool through second grades, in 3 different small Christian schools. My favorite things about teaching are watching the kids learn things that at first they didn't think they could and getting so excited when they think they are the first person to have ever learned something. I love teaching at small schools like TMS because it is so much like a family; we literally get to watch our students grow up, even if not in our own classroom.

I graduated from Kentucky Christan College in 1990, with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and in Bible. I am currently working on my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Leadership; this should be completed in the spring of 2023. My favorite scripture verse right now is Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." I have seen this verse happen so many times in my life; I trust that God is still working for my good, as long as I follow His purpose. Outside of school, I became a minister's wife in 1987. We ministered at small churches in KY, OH, and VA for almost 30 years before my husband passed away suddenly. We have 3 sons who all are in ministry as a career or as a volunteer. They are all married and have given us, so far, a total of six grandsons and 1 granddaughter. As much of my spare time as possible is spent with them.
